NBA is a professional sports league played by grown men who are usually bigger, taller, and more athletic than average men. Tall and athletic players dominate the game along with their skills. Most of the NBA players are over 6 feet tall, with an average height of 6’6, a foot taller than the average height of a man within the US. Their size could mean that their feet are bigger, too. How big are the feet of NBA players? Who are the few of them who have the biggest feet? What are their shoe sizes?
Let’s get into the details.
Who Wears the Biggest Shoe Size?
According to the Guinness World Record, Jeison Orlando Rodríguez Hernández of Venezuela currently holds the record for the world’s largest feet of a living person. His feet measured at 40.47 cm (1.32 ft) and 40.55 cm (1.33 ft), putting him at a gigantic US size 26. Hernandez’s feet are slightly bigger than Sultan Kösen’s, the tallest man in the world today at 8’3.
As a basketball player with such big feet, Hernandez revealed that he had difficulties finding shoes that fit him even during childhood.
No marketplace sells size 26 footwear, as most manufacturers only offer up to about 14. So, it’s a struggle for Hernandez when he needs a new pair of shoes. A German custom shoemaker, Georg Wessel, helps Hernandez with his shoe needs and Kosen’s.
While Hernandez holds the record for the largest feet and shoe size among the living, Robert Wadlow has the record for the biggest feet ever. He wore size 37AA shoes, the biggest shoe ever. Wadlow was also the world’s tallest man, the record he still owns today. He was an 8’11 giant at the time of his death at age 22.
7 NBA Players with the Biggest Feet
People usually focus on an NBA player’s size because it determines how he can play on both ends of the floor. They also take note of the wingspan and standing reach as they help a player in his game. But many don’t focus on the size of the player’s feet. It is usually an insignificant statistic, and an athlete’s foot size doesn’t determine his game.
However, a particular game made people more curious about NBA players’ foot size.
During Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets hit what was thought to be a game-winning three-pointer. Upon review, it was found that Durant’s feet were barely an inch over the three-point line. That shot was later ruled as a long two-pointer that put the game in overtime which Durant and the Nets lost, 111-115.
During the postgame interview, the Brooklyn Nets’ star spoke about that shot, saying:
(‘My big a** foot stepped on the line,’ Durant said, ‘I just seen the little screenshot, how close I was to ending [their] season off that shot, but it wasn’t in God’s plan.’ He added)
What could be an epic moment for Durant turned into one of the biggest “what if” moments in playoffs NBA history. As fans and analysts began to be curious about Durant’s shoe size, it was revealed that KD wears a full-size bigger in games than his actual shoe size to achieve that featherweight feel, according to the report of Chris Herring in 2018.
Did you know: KD actually wears a full size bigger in games than his actual shoe size. From @Herring_NBA’s 2018 story about why KD’s shoes fall off all the time: pic.twitter.com/kKo2gthZR8

What is the Largest Shoe Size in the NBA?
Basketball is a team sport played by folks with heavy bodies who have towering heights more than the average players in other sports. In professional leagues, especially in the NBA, most players are over six feet tall, and it is a fantastic show to witness when you watch teams clash on the court.
The shoe size is proportional to males’ height, particularly after puberty. Taller men typically have bigger feet than shorter or average-height men.
Taco Fall is the tallest man ever to play in the NBA and one of the tallest human beings in the world today. He is a professional basketball player from Senegal who went undrafted during the 2019 NBA Draft. He played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. Wrapping Things Up: 7 NBA Players with the Biggest Feet
Although size isn’t the only thing to be considered when choosing NBA athletes, it remains an essential factor. In the beginning, many NBA Scouts were heavily influenced by their size rather than their skills and experience in playing. As a result, average players like Manute Bol and Yao Ming, who had little playing experience, still found their way to the NBA.
While being tall was an advantage for many prospects, finding shoes that would fit them proved to be a difficult task. Many players had difficulty finding the correct shoe size as most shoe manufacturers did not produce shoes over size 13. Several sneaker companies started designing customized shoes to fit NBA players as time passed. What is the size of your sneakers? What is the giant pair of shoes you have ever seen in person?
