It has been quite a summer for Washington Wizards guard, Gilbert “Agent Zero” Arenas.
Just two days after leaving for that trip, he signed a new contract with the Wizards worth $111 million over six years. Two weeks later at the press conference, he mentioned that a championship was near and he was adopting a new attitude.
Earlier this week, Arenas appeared on the Big O and Dukes show on 106.7 WJFK in Washington, D.C. and he touched on many topics. He discussed how he’s been watching the Olympics and he’s envious of how limber the gymnasts are; he mentioned that his favorite video game was Halo, and he has been playing it feverishly this summer; he spoke about how he got rid of his agent, because he felt like he could better market himself on his own; he even revealed his viewpoint on how pointless he thought the NBA age limit was given that players are now looking at playing overseas as an option.
But his most intriguing comments came when he spoke of a possible reality show:
[Have]you ever seen the show, ‘Rob and Big?’ The producers want to do a reality show on me — the first NBA player to do a reality show. But then I thought about it — I was like, my life is really not that exciting. I have kids now and its like I raise them for an hour or hour and a half when I’m not playing video games. You know, so, I’m thinking about it, because, ya’ know, I have players like Nick [Young], who’s goofy, so we can do paintball shooting and see who can get hurt on the grotto jumping into the pool…”
It doesn’t quite sound like the details of this reality show have been hammered out yet, but if it is and if Arenas’ show is anywhere as entertaining his blog, then the world is in for an entertaining and honest reality show ride.
While we wait for this to take shape Arenas and his Wizards teammates can be seen sometime during the preseason which is less than two months away:

I loved Rob and Big (tear…) I found some great Rob and Big shirts at PantherTees.com. They’re cheap and if you enter the promo code pts10 you’ll get an extra 10% off. You should definitely check it out! And I would love to see the show come back on the air.
