Podcast: The Big Four Make Their Mark

June 13, 2010

After uneven performances in the first four games of these NBA Finals, the “Big 4″ of Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen finally got it right in the Celtics, 92-86 victory.

Pierce had the hot hand with 27 points, Allen struggled from the field, but played tight defense on Kobe Bryant, and scratched and clawed his way to 12 points.  Garnett was active on the boards (10 rebounds) and hit big baskets down the stretch to end up with 18 points, and Rondo, despite his seven turnovers, had eight assists and scored 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting.  They were integral in the Celtics victory tonight, and they were able to pull out the victory, despite Bryant’s 38 points–which included an amazing 19 points in the third quarter.

In this podcast, Rashad and Ryan discuss the play of the Big 4, Kobe’s amazing quarter and its effect on the rest of the team, the dismal play of Ron Artest and Lamar Odom and which team has the advantage going into Tuesday night’s Game 6.
