Ryan,
Minnesota making that trade yesterday to allow them to possibly select both DeRozan [5/6] and Evans [6/5] would certainly be a bold step taken by David Kahn … and, throw a wrench the Raptors’ way.
IMO, drafting a Back-up PG, like Jonny Flynn, with the No. 9 Selection, will not be a sound move by the Raptors, who should absolutely trade down if that’s what happens in front of them tomorrow night.
Wasting available resources like that is how teams remain “stuck on the treadmill” for years to come.

If the Pistons can snag Earl Clark with No. 15, that would be a steal, IMO.
Earl Clark is another player who is on my list of possible draftees for the Raptors.

The same goes for Terrence Williams [to Charlotte] at No. 12.

Khandor - I agree that ideally it would be great to get a wing like James Johnson. They’ve had JJ in twice so it’s possible they roll the dice and take him a little higher than he’s projected to go.
Clark has a ton of potential but he doesn’t appear to be on the teams radar. After watching him workout he showed flashes of brilliance but he also coasted for stretches.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a player like James Harden slip down in the draft if he doesn’t go to OKC or Minnesota. If that’s the case then BC’s list of five players is out the window and we have a complete steal on our hands.

There is no way that Rubio drops down to 4th spot. .

re: Harden
IMO, the lower he falls in the draft the more appealing he becomes. At the top end, at his size and with his game, he falls into a category of player which I do not really like. Give my team someone like Earl Clark, or James Johnson, or Derrick Brown and I will beat the opposition with the likes of James Harden more times than not, in the NBA … which is not to say that I think Harden is a “bad” player by any stretch of the imagination, only that any team with Harden on the floor vs an opponent with someone similar to Kobe or Lebron or Pierce [etc.] lining up against them is going to be hard-pressed to win a playoff series down-the-road.
