KIA Hosts NBA Tip-Off Event

A big thanks goes out to Julia Roy for making me aware of the interesting marking push KIA and the NBA are using to promote the start of the 2007/08 season.

If you live in New York City, make sure you head to Union Square on Tuesday between 7 am and 7 pm to play on a full-size basketball court on an elevated platform (taking 12 hours to put together), check out a three-story DJ tower, a 8X10′ video wall and see live broadcast ESPN 1050 Radio with Michael Kay.

Current Knicks players, NBA legends, the Knicks City Dancers, along with several other well-known celebrities will be signing autographs and participating in basketball challenges on the court.

Besides some interesting activities for fans in New York, I have to hand it to the NBA for using some social networking ideas like FlickR and YouTube. My favourite YouTube was this one called Squirrel Basketball:
