Dallas lost against Miami in finals and last year against Golden State not because of basketball issues. They were heart issues. With that said though, Harris is going to blossom into quite a good point guard in a couple of seasons for New Jersey. I've loved his game since he came into the NBA. Dallas just couldn't wait and needed someone with Kidd's skill level now. Now they don't lose as much depth but they are going to be paying the luxary tax in a big way. I just don't see how this deal helps the Mavs as a franchise. Granted, it keeps Dirk, Howard and the fans happy but this deal doesn't help the franchise as they still are title contenders and it cripples the Mavericks future.
