Idaho Stampede To Hold Tryouts In Toronto

September 23, 2008

Have you ever dreamed about playing professional basketball and live near Toronto? If so, then head over to the Humber College on October 5th for your chance to earn a roster spot on the Idaho Stampede this season.

The Idaho Stampede will be hosting two open player tryouts for the upcoming season. The first session will be held in Toronto, Canada on October 5-6 at Humber College. Players who catch the coaching staffs eye will be asked to attend the second open player tryout on October 25-26 at the Stampede Practice Facility.

Think this is a long shot? Think again. Last season two players, Earnest Scott and Jason Ellis, made the team out of these workouts. Scott played in 40 games with the Stampede, averaging 7.9 points per game and 3.5 rebounds. Ellis, a former BSU standout, played in 37 games averaging 5.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds.

“This is such an invaluable opportunity for our team,” said Stampede Head Coach, Bryan Gates. “It is the perfect way to fill our roster for the upcoming season.”

Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and may pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure, and release forms, along with a $150 fee. The fee increases to $200 on the day of camp. Payments may be made by cash, cashier’s check or credit card.

Any questions regarding the camp should be address to the Idaho Stampede Basketball Office at 208-573-1418.

Registration forms and waivers are available by clicking this link.
