The past two summers have been extremely tough for Gilbert Arenas. He spent the summer of 2007, rehabbing and recovering from an MCL injury that occurred towards the end of the season. During the summer of 2008, it appeared as if Arenas was healthy, but his rigorous rehabilitation proved to be damaging, when it was discovered that additional surgery was needed. As a result, Arenas has only played 15 games the past two seasons.
Toward the end of the 2008-2009 season, Arenas said his knee felt completely healthy, but he wanted to focus on further strengthening his surgically repaired knee. As part of this process, Arenas went to Chicago, and hooked up with legendary trainer, Tim Grover.
Grover, who is the owner and CEO of the Attack Athletics , first became a household name 20 years ago, when he assisted in making Hall of Famer Michael Jordan a physically stronger basketball player. Since then, he has worked with Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant and many others.
Thanks to WashingtonWizards.com, we can now see some of the training Grover and Arenas did this summer, and it is broken down into three separate videos. The first one focuses on Arenas’ offseason training, the second focuses on his rehab, and the last video will detail Arenas’ return to the court.
You can watch part of the video here. Stay tuned to Hoops Addict for the next installment which will be released on September 17th.
