Derrick Brown chatted with Ryan McNeill after a pre-draft workout in Toronto about what kind of advice he gets from David West or James Posey, why he elected to not return for his senior season, the impact Sean Miller leaving for Arizona had on him, what kind of feedback he’s getting during pre-draft workouts, what the toughest part about workouts is and he gives a quick sales pitch for why he would be a great fit for Toronto.

Ryan, I haven’t had a chance to listen to the interview yet, but someone on one of our messageboards indicated that you pronounced Xavier as “Eckssavier” or something to that effect, during the interview with Derrick.
I’m simply writing to let you know that, for future reference, you should pronounce it as you would pronounce Xerox. You obviously pronounce Xerox as ‘Zerox’; Xavier is pronounced the same way: Zavier.
No big deal. I just thought you might like to know as a journalist.

The most underrated prospect of this draft. Dont be surprised if he gets picked early first round. Scouts and GM’s know talent, athleticism and potential and this kid has it all.

At 6-8, 225 … with a firm belief that he’s a legit NBA SF … Derrick Brown is going to be a keeper at the next level for whichever team drafts him.
IMO, he would be a solid player for the Raptors to add coming from this year’s draft.
