VDZ - When a buddy mentioned the idea this summer it caught my off guard but that might be a more "natural" position for Johnson. Plus, like you mentioned, when he's playing alongside Bargs the two can play off each other nicely. Another nice twist is that his rebounding at the three would offset Bargs not being a strong rebounder for the centre position.

Doc - Thanks for posting the link! I appreciate your help in spreading the word about the Raptors content here on Hoops Addict. Please continue to post links on Raptors Forum for me.

Great interview Ryan and thank you.

I'm not sure what the Raptors are thinking regarding Amir playing SF, but I'll take their word for it considering they're the professionals. ;)

BTW, hope you don't mind Ryan but I shared the link to the interview over at RaptorsForum.

Playing him at the 3?! Seriously a surprise to me. Thinking about it, though... If Bargnani's on the court with him, Bargs can effectively play 3 on offense and Amir can guard the 3 on the other end. It's not completely insane.

Impressive interview with Johnson.

He didn't use the phrase "ya know" once.

Ya know, I think he has potential as a politician.

[...] Hoops Addict During the Raptors media day on Monday afternoon, I had the chance to chat with new forward Amir Johnson about being dealt twice this summer, how the Raptors coaching staff plan to play him a bit at small forward, if he feels any pressure entering the last year of his contract and his goals for the upcoming season. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Faltraps.com%2F2009%2F09%2F29%2Fmorning-coffee-sept-29%2F'; addthis_title = 'Morning+Coffee+Sept+29'; addthis_pub = ''; [...]
