The Denver Nuggets are a group of misfits and castoffs who have seemingly made it all come together for a serious title run. Tougher than L.A., more talented than Dallas and more versatile than just about anybody else in the league, the Nuggets are the most dangerous team in the Western Conference.

Cleveland Is Confident Playing Small Ball thumbnail

When Shaquille O’Neal injured his thumb during a game against Boston on Thursday, I assumed there would be concern within the Cavaliers locker room over their lack of depth in the front court. The referee handed the ball to Shaun Livingston, and instantly he began to frantically look for a teammate to throw the ball to, but he could not find an opening. Finally, Livingston called a timeout, hoping Washington could use one of the two 20 second timeouts they had left, but it wasn’t to be. Friday night, when the Washington Wizards took on the Denver Nuggets, it represented the first game Young played without his “crutches”, and, on the surface, his performance was nothing special. He wasn’t in the starting lineup, and in the 22 minutes he did play, he scored just scored 12 points. But a closer examination of his play on and off the court revealed a slight change in the third year player.

Wright Slows Down Howard thumbnail

After seeing Josh Howard score Washington’s first nine points (while going 3-3 from the field) of the game, Antoine Wright was substituted into the game for his presence on the defensive end. From that point on Josh Howard went 2-14 from the field and struggled mightily to score his remaining eight points.
