Prior to the game I saw Washington Wizards announcer Phil Chenier and New York Knicks announcer Walt “Clyde” Frazier talking at the dinner table right next to me. In the 1970’s, Chenier and Frazier, who were both guards, had many legendary battles against one another. 30 years later, these guys can sit across from one another as friends, and just talk about their respective teams, their battles and life in general.

After letting Memphis hang in the game during the first half, Toronto came out with an inspired effort in the second half to coast to a 103-83 victory. One of the highlights of the night was hearing the same fans that booed Andrea Bargnani less than a month ago give him a thundering ovation when he checked out of the game.

Coach Tapscott told the media he looks at the season in seven game intervals as a way to motivate his team. Sometimes it backfires as it did in December when he went 0-for-7, and other times it is encouraging like during this current seven game stretch when his team is a slightly improved 3-4.
