Catching Up With Tyler Hansbrough
I have no shame in admitting the North Carolina Tar Heels are my favorite college hoops team. And no, I’m not a bandwagon guy when it comes to the Tar Heels. My allegiance to this program dates back to when Ed Cota was dishing out dimes on his way to finishing his career as the schools career leaders in assists and my allegiance was cemented when Vince Carter rose to fame.
As a fan of North Carolina one of the players I’ve enjoyed watching the past few year is Tyler Hansbrough . What’s not too like about a player who posted All-American numbers while being the focal point of a team that is always in contention to win a National Championship? Throw in the fact that he plays the game with reckless abandon and it’s been easy to cheer for him the past four seasons.
This past summer Hansbrough was a lottery pick of the Indiana Pacers and despite to an injury to his right shin which cost him a couple of games he’s still posted solid numbers with 8.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in just under 18 minutes of burn.
I was able to chat with Hansbrough earlier this week about already becoming a fan favorite in Indiana less than a month into his rookie season, what it was like to play an NBA game in Charlotte earlier this month and he talked about the toughest part of the transition from NCAA basketball to the NBA.

I love me some Tyler Hansbrough. He is so interesting. He is so adorable. He is so smart. Why, though, does everyone ask him about Ty Lawson? Ask him more questions about himself, please! I love that guy Tyler. He is great and I hope he can improve to show everyone what he can do.

Deborah – Thanks for the comment! To be honest, I wasn’t planning on asking about Ty Lawson but the way the conversation went it seemed like how the conversation flowed. Glad to hear you enjoyed our chat.
