Catching Up With Dee Brown

Back when I was in high school one of the players I loved to watch was Dee Brown. Maybe it was his nasty dunks. Or maybe it was his passion for the game combined with his flair for the dramatic (like when he pumped up his Reebok’s during a Slam Dunk contest).

Regardless, when Brown was traded to Toronto I remember being excited to watch him play on a regular basis.

So when I arrived at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday I was stoked to learn the Raptors’ were going to honour him as part of their 15th Anniversary. Why? Because it meant he would be made available to the media and I would get a chance to talk with a player I was a fan of when I was a teenager.

During our pre-game chat we talked about what it meant to him to be honoured by the Raptors, his favourite memory of his time in Toronto and he shared why he’s passionate about coaching in the D-League.
