Although the Cleveland Cavaliers went on a wretched nine-game losing streak recently, they have picked two of their last four victories off veteran/reserve play. There’s no doubt that third-year guard Lester Hudson has been the highlight reel of the bunch.

This is not the return from the All-Star break that the Cleveland Cavaliers had in mind.

Twenty two points on 8-of-12 shooting, combined with five assists and just one turnover, isn’t just decent. Those stats are inspirational to his teammates.

As Cavaliers’ rookie Kyrie Irving drove through three Dallas Mavericks with essentially the game-winning layup, a Cleveland crowd of over 17,000 roared on their feet at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday. It was visible on the clutch point guard’s face – and it couldn’t be refuted at that moment – that he is currently in the process of revitalizing this franchise.

It was the unsung heros that pushed the Cleveland Cavaliers to snap their four-game losing skid to the New York Knicks at Quicken Loans Arena Wednesday night.

It was a tale of 25 turnovers and unsustained energy that cost the Cavaliers a home defeat to the Golden State Warriors, 105-95, after a long, seven-game road trip. The loss dropped their record to 6-7 for the season.

Cleveland fans roared as Cavaliers forward Antawn Jamison sunk his third and final three-pointer with 30 seconds left in the squad’s 98-82 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena. With the win, the Cavs improved to .500 with a record of 2-2 in this young NBA season.

With the Cavs being a young squad, it was easy for Toronto to take advantage of the defensive mistakes that really dug a hole for Cleveland. Regardless of how many loose balls they scrambled on the floor for and how many points in the paint the Cavs had, they just couldn’t dig themselves out of the hole they dug for themselves.

Although it was only a pre-season game, it felt like more than that.

Joining the Cavaliers as an assistant coach is Nate Tibbetts from the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League. Aubrey McCreary will also join the staff as player development assistant/video coach, and will work alongside returning player development assistant/video coach Jordi Fernandez.
