Denver Is A Team Of Redemption thumbnail

The Denver Nuggets are a group of misfits and castoffs who have seemingly made it all come together for a serious title run. Tougher than L.A., more talented than Dallas and more versatile than just about anybody else in the league, the Nuggets are the most dangerous team in the Western Conference.

They are the two premier point guards of a generation, forever linked together as consecutive picks in the 2005 NBA Draft. However, as Chris Paul and Deron Williams enter the next phase of their possible hall of fame careers, both players are now unhappy, untouchable pieces for financially strapped organizations.

Philadelphia Looking To The Future thumbnail

With the way their 09-10 season is turning out, Philadelphia is currently on an 11 game losing streak, the Sixers are headed straight to the ping pong balls for a date with the lottery. Kentucky’s John Wall, Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors and Syracuse’s Wesley Johnson are all in the mix and if the cards fall in the right place, will serve the role of savior.

What’s Wrong With The Cavaliers thumbnail

Through the first week of the NBA season, a few popular championship picks have come out a little flat. Granted the season’s barely cracked dawn, but apart from the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, nearly every preseason contender that had made a significant addition in the off season as an attempt to mold their already stellar team into an even better one, has been limping out of the gate.

The Cavaliers would have to be at the top of the list right now.

Davis Needs To Choose His Path thumbnail

Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals was supposed to be the turning point in Glen Davis’ career. When he hit that game winner, ran down the sideline and rejoiced triumphantly on Orlando’s home court, Davis no longer went by the name Big Baby, but simply Glen. It was a moment in the sun, a coming out party of sorts for a player who had officially gained the respect of both his coaches and veteran teammates.

Now, thanks to an unfortunate mistake, Davis faces a different kind of turning point. If it weren’t for the fact he’s about to begin just his third season, you might even call it a crossroads.

Few Players Are Tougher Than Hudson thumbnail

Taken with the Celtics lone pick in the 2009 NBA draft, 58th overall, Lester Hudson was a long shot to make the Celtics deep, veteran savvy roster. Even with a strong need for a backup point guard, it’s an uphill battle for any late round draft pick to make the roster.

Hudson, however, is no normal late round draft pick. This proved to be evident when earlier this month Boston made the decision to sign their rookie to a one-year non guaranteed deal.

Pierce Needs A Shadow

The 2009-10 Boston Celtics are obviously fit to win a championship, but it goes without saying that they’re an aging group and with at least 82 games in a season, an aging group needs their rest. This is where the Celtics find their most glaring hole.

Who will serve as a serviceable backup to Paul Pierce?

Perkins Pivotal Part To Celtics Season

In the upcoming season, Kendrick Perkins’ health and ability to stay on the floor won’t be as publicized as Rasheed Wallace’s assimilation into Celtic green or Kevin Garnett’s surgically repaired knee, but the starting center will have to be a lynch pin on the defensive end if Boston is to win their second championship in three years.

Keeping Up With The Pack

Current general manager and former starting point guard Danny Ainge was witness to the Celtics decline as he was traded to Sacramento two years after Le Bias’s unfortunate death. With no plan of action to keep Boston on top as a perennial championship contender, the organization floundered into a hole that they couldn’t dig themselves out of until the current Big Three was formed.

Ainge now faces a very similar situation in his attempt to keep the Celtics relevant even after Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett are gone. Even with Garnett and Rasheed Wallace both under contract until the 2011-12 season, Allen’s contract is up at the end of the season and Pierce has a player option.

The window is closing quickly and the team needs a diagram.
