With January over, we are officially in the home-stretch of the college basketball season. And for the fourth time in as many weeks, we have a new number one.

Folks it’s been two full weeks since the last Power Rankings, but we appreciate your patience. A lot has changed in the landscape of college basketball, as the teams ranked #1 and #2 in the last poll have both since lost.

Ron Hunter isn’t a hero. What Ron Hunter is, is a basketball coach, and a smart one, who knows that he can use his role as a public figure, and as a leader, to create change.

With college basketball season in full-swing, and conference play underway, there are no easy games at this point. Pittsburgh was able to remain the top spot, but there’s a fresh-faced group coming off a big win right on their heals.

After searching nationwide, and checking in with hundreds of college basketball’s best players and coaches, we have come up with a list of how some of the games best are choosing to make things better in 2009.

What a week it was in college basketball, as three of Hoops Addict’s top four teams lost for the first time this season. With conference play underway, the easy part of the schedule over, and we will start to get a true barometer on these teams headed into March.

For the third week in a row, the same four teams top Hoops Addict’s College Basketball Power Rankings. That’s not to say there haven’t been changes, as we welcome two new (old) teams this week, in the final rankings of 2008.

College basketball provided us with a few contests for the ages Saturday, as Connecticut against Gonzaga and Michigan State at Texas were both thrilling games with a post-season feel. With just a handful of games until conference play get in full-swing, here is our latest version of College Basketball’s Power Rankings.

With most schools in the midst of final exams, few meaningful games were played this past week, hence there is little change in our College Basketball Power Rankings. But with the semester done, the on the court tests begin, as many teams are challenging themselves out of conference this coming week.

There was a lot of noise in college basketball this week, as we welcome several newcomers to the latest edition of Hoops Addict’s College Basketball Power Rankings. With colleges in the midst of final exams it will be relatively quiet this coming week, as for once schools put the “student,” first in student-athlete.
