If Mr. Lou died at 3pm and Marbury landed at 4pm, I'm guessing he was told of his death at 4pm when he turned his cell phone on. There is no reason why either the Knicks or Marbury wouldn't just come out and say that he went home to pay his respects to his basketball mentor to decrease the PR debacle that this situation has created. But there is plenty of logic behind the story that he stormed off after being told he wouldn't start in the next game. Anyone who watched him fumble his way through the closing moments of the game against the Heat would realize the guy DESERVED to be benched. If they didn't give him permission, then he left without permission, and the criticism stands. One could debate the fairness of giving Zach R permission to attend to a sick/dying family member & denying the same to Marbury.
