Dwight Howard talked with the media after a win over Toronto about how Orlando’s defense is starting to come together, being more than happy to let Vince Carter lead the team in field goal attempts, feeling comfortable at the free throw line this afternoon when the fans were chanting his name and a host of other topics.

Before the game on Friday I was able to chat with Joel Anthony about his family coming to watch the game against Toronto, being a model for Canada Basketball and he gives an update on next summer and the upcoming World Championships.

Last night Hoops Addict had the chance to chat with Pops Mensah-Bonsu about what it was like to be back on the Air Canada Centre court wearing a Raptors’ jersey, the truth behind the rumour that his agent asked NBA teams not to claim him off waivers and what the coaching staff has told him he’ll need to do in order to secure some minutes this season.

Chris Bosh did a fantastic job attacking Jermaine O’Neal and Joel Anthony early and often tonight. The Raptors were running a ton of isolation plays for Bosh in the first half and he was attacking both big men off the dribble and pulling up for jumpers. This resulted in Bosh scoring 17 points while snagging 6 boards in the first half before finishing with 29 points and 12 boards.

After one particularly bad loss in Indiana, where the Wizards scored just 86 points and committed 19 turnovers, Antawn Jamison, who was still in street clothes at the time, cursed his teammates out for their listless play. After last night’s victory, Jamison hinted that his presence in the lineup was a bit more influential than his behavior out of it.

Gilbert Arenas summed this night up perfectly when he said: “[Jamison] dominated that first quarter, Mike Miller dominated the second, I dominated the third, and Earl Boykins and Caron finished up the fourth. We just had an all balanced performance tonight.”
